Random Sketches.:: [Confrontation] ::.

Finally less realistic drawings and more random doodles. This is something that came up in my mind yesterday. Firey pheonixes have always been a motif in my work. I’m recently introducing fawns and deers now. Love the idea, don’t like the lousy penart. :/

Bowhead Whale, Stippled

I realised I hardly draw marine mammals, so here’s a Bowhead Whale for a change! And I’m using one of my favourite techniques… STIPPLING! The proportion was really tricky because I tend to make him look a little fatter.. XP

An animal’s skull from a creative photography book. I really like the subtle shading on this one. (:

Bald Eagle Pencil Drawing (again!)

Mr Tan said I can’t post coursework stuff next year, so here’s your chance to check out all my ILP drawings and stuff before everything goes private and confidential! Here’s another bald eagle pencil drawing from a copy of the Encyclopaedia of Birds in the school library. Check out the textures! :D :D:D

p.s. sorry the scanner picked up the skull and eagle head sketch behind LOL!

Fawn, She Dreams .Papercut Design

April 5, 2009 at 5:34 pm | In Animals, Doodles, Drawings, Ink, Papercutting | Leave a Comment

Surprise! It’s another inked papercut design, but with a smoother, curvier style to it. It’s supposed to be a fawn in the clouds with the full moon behind. Should’ve saved this for Mid-Autumn Festival, no? (:

Winged Fox Papercut Design

I’ve just finished the Winged Fox Papercut Design from the previous post. Well, what do you think? (:

Winged Fox in Pencil

A random winged fox I drew at school.. I didn’t bother to increase the shading since I’m already working on something else. But I really like the smoothness of the toning this time round. I didn’t like Chengkor describing it as “Neopet-ish”.. >:/

By the way, I’m currently converting this into a papercut design. ;)

Sketch: Pegasus

Back to the good ‘ol pencil sketches again. My good friend the Pegasus is back in a more dynamic pencil sketch!

Random Doodle: Latios

Alright, I had a hard time deciding whether this is a shiny latios. I didn’t have a Copic pen with the regular latios’ blue, so I used this blue instead. I should have used BG34 Horizon Green instead. Oh well.

Something to brighten up that cardboard backing of the foolscap paper from school. Latios is handsome, no? :)

À Suivre: Hummingbird in 1.5 Painting Series

February 8, 2009 at 6:57 pm | In Development, Drawings, Sketches | Leave a Comment

Finally a new update to push that hideous rendition of a personified Friendlie down one post. I unwisely self-promoted my ARTBlog link in ISP (Intelligent School Portal) so now I’ve got more viewers coming in… And unfortunately they will be greeted by a very weird looking Fu Wa that will bring back no delightful déjà vu of 2008 whatsoever. And so.. I figured I must make haste on my next post, so here it is!

The first of my series of 1.5 paintings! I went with Leny to Art Friend to window-shop, and picked up two $1.50 canvases on the way. So now you know why they’re called “1.5 paintings”. Something struck me to draw a hummingbird last night, so I did. Here’s the sketch on the canvas which will soon (hopefully) be given a fresh, colourful coat of paint.

And so… visitors will now be greeted by an unpolished doodle of a hummingbird in mid-air! :D

EDIT: Thanks to Leny for pointing out the flower’s odd proportions! (: Keep the comments coming!
